In honor of our nation’s upcoming 250th Anniversary, The Huron Historical Society and Alumni of The Huron Playhouse proudly present the Tony Award-winning musical 1776 — a stirring and entertaining retelling of the birth of American independence.

1776 brings history to life with sharp wit, moving drama, and a rousing score that captures the passion and debate behind the creation of the Declaration of Independence.

With music and lyrics by Sherman Edwards and a book by Peter Stone, the production features Geoff Stephenson as John Adams, Steve Koenig as Thomas Jefferson, John Glann as Edward Rutledge, Jessica DeFrange as Abigail Adams, Jason Budd as Benjamin Franklin and many alumni rounding out the powerhouse cast. Under the direction of former Huron Playhouse Managing & Artistic Director Jann Graham Glann and Musical Director & Conductor Kerry Glann, the show unites history enthusiasts and theatre lovers alike in an unforgettable evening of patriotic celebration.

Performances will be held at McCormick School Auditorium, 325 Ohio Street, Huron, Ohio on Thursday, July 30, Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1. All performances begin at 7:30 PM
